The aim of the thesis was to gain information how much international leadership interests and are they relevant to career development. The sample in this thesis is students aged 20-35. The thesis aimed to examine the view on about the topic and find out what makes people pursue these roles in their career and what does not.
The nature of the study Is a research thesis where data for the research part was collected using qualitative research methods by conducting an online survey. 43 business administration and international business students participated in this study. The collected data successfully helped to create a clear picture of the topic.
The thesis revealed that young adults are interested in internationality and above all, leadership. The results highlighted that although the majority wanted to become leaders, it was not a measure of a meaningful and successful career. A career can still be successful even if the goal is not to rise in the hierarchy. Internationality in career was most interesting from the perspective of working as part of international team, travel and working abroad. The biggest challenge to international interest were the lack of language skills and life situation.
