Tiivistelmä
Tämän kehittämistyön tarkoituksena oli laatia tarkistuslista traumataustaisen lapsen hoidon tueksi lastenpsykiatrian osastolla. Tavoitteena oli tarjota hoitohenkilökunnalle selkeä ja käytännönläheinen työväline, joka kokoaa yhteen keskeiset hoitomenetelmät ja tukee niiden soveltamista osastohoidossa.
Kehittämistyö toteutettiin toiminnallisena kehittämistyönä, ja toimeksiantajana toimi Varsinais-Suomen hyvinvointialueeseen (Varha) kuuluva Turun yliopistollisen keskussairaalan lastenpsykiatrian osasto L1. Osastolla hoidetaan alle 13-vuotiaita lapsia. Tarkistuslistan sisältö laadittiin opinnäytetyön raportissa käsiteltävän ajankohtaisen tiedon ja aiempien tutkimusten pohjalta. Raportissa käsiteltiin traumataustaisen lapsen hoitoon liittyviä keskeisiä menetelmiä ja traumainformoidun hoidon periaatteita.
Kehittämistyön tuotoksena syntyi tarkistuslista, jonka avulla voidaan vahvistaa lapsen kokemaa turvallisuutta sekä lisätä perheen osallisuutta hoitoon. Tuotos vastasi asetettuihin tavoitteisiin ja tarjoaa konkreettisen työkalun arjen hoitotyön tueksi. Jatkossa tarkistuslistaa ja sen käyttöä olisi tarkoituksenmukaista seurata ja päivittää säännöllisesti, jotta tarkistuslista säilyy ajankohtaisena ja palvelee parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla. The aim of this development project was to create a checklist to support the care of children with a trauma background in a child psychiatric ward. The objective was to provide the healthcare staff with a clear and practical tool that incorporates key care methods and supports their implementation in inpatient care.
The project was carried out as a functional development work, commissioned by the Child Psychiatric ward L1 at Turku University Hospital, operating under the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varha). The ward provides care for children under the age of 13. The content of the checklist was formulated using up-to-date knowledge and previous research addressed in the thesis report. The report discussed key approaches to caring for children with a trauma background, as well as the principles of trauma-informed care. The outcome of the development project was a checklist designed to strengthen the child’s sense of safety and increase family involvement in care.
The outcome met the set objectives and provided a concrete tool to support everyday nursing practice. In the future, it is recommended that the checklist and the use of it be regularly monitored and updated to ensure the checklist remains up to date and continues to meet the needs of the ward in the best possible way.
