Tiivistelmä
Aim: The research aims to clarify nurses' knowledge of music therapy and emphasize its contribution in elevating older people's mental health.
Methods and Materials: Databases like CINAHL, PubMed, Medline, and Google Scholar were used to undertake a systematic literature study. Based on inclusion criteria, nine qualitative studies published between 2019 and 2025 were chosen.
Results: Four themes were discovered which are, emotional and psychological advantages, social connection and belonging, nurses' involvement in the implementation, and music therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy. Music therapy lowered anxiety and depression, raised mood, boosted cognitive involvement, and enhanced nurses to residents relationships.
Conclusion: One safe, efficient, and all-encompassing way to address older adult mental health care is music therapy. Nurses are absolutely essential in its execution. To enhance resident well-being and personnel happiness, the research advises incorporating music therapy into conventional treatment methods and nursing education.
