Tiivistelmä
This thesis focuses on designing a visual identity for the figure skating club Krasoklub Ondrej Nepela. The aim of the project was to create a coherent and contemporary visual identity that reflects the values, character, and sporting discipline of the club, while also strengthening its recognisability and communication across different platforms. The theoretical part of the thesis examines the role of visual identity in sports organisations, with emphasis on branding, visual communication, and identity design principles. Existing visual identities of sports clubs were analysed to understand common approaches, challenges, and visual conventions within the field.
The practical part of the thesis documents the design process of the new visual identity. This includes research, conceptual development, sketching, logo design, typography selection, colour palette development, and the creation of supporting graphic elements. The visual identity was designed to be adaptable and functional in both digital and printed applications, such as social media, promotional materials, and club-related communication.
As a result, the thesis presents a complete visual identity system that supports the club’s visual consistency and communication needs. The project demonstrates how design methods and visual identity principles can be applied in a real-world sports context to create a clear, recognisable, and sustainable brand presence.
