Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this study was to examine the market potential of Nepalese street food by analyzing consumer perceptions towards this food concept, as Finnish consumers have shown interest in diverse and authentic foods. Nepalese street food, characterized by its traditional flavors, affordability, and cultural identity, may offer a unique market opportunity for this trend. The Quantitative surveys with 51 respondents were conducted to assess consumer attitudes toward service quality, affordability, hygiene, and willingness to try ethnic food. The results showed that most respondents had a positive attitude towards Nepalese Street food. The respondents valued quick services, affordable prices, and hygiene for street food. Among respondents, younger respondents and those who regularly eat outside were more interested in trying Nepalese street food. The correlation analysis between street food and market potential indicates a positive market potential. These findings show that Jyväskylä has a real positive market for Nepalese street food if it is well managed, affordable, and offers a variety of options.
