Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis is to look deeper into cybersecurity awareness. How cybersecurity awareness can be increased among business entities. What kind of cybersecurity threats exist and challenges small and medium sized enterprises.
The aim of research is to reveal strengths and weaknesses of CVEHunter using qualitative and quantitative methods. A cybersecurity company offering automated vulnerability scanning services.
The theoretical framework drew on existing research on cybersecurity awareness, digital communication, social media marketing, and digital trust. Empirical data were collected during an internship at CVEHunter. Including social media analytics, website performance data, outreach activities.
Findings confirm that cybersecurity communication is most effective when messages are clear, concise, and directly connected to real-world threats. Interactive content, particularly polls and reels generate higher engagement. However, the results also show that awareness alone is insufficient without trust-building communication and a user-friendly website.
The study recommends that structured, transparent, and user-centered communication strategies play a key role in strengthening cybersecurity awareness among SMEs.
