Tiivistelmä
The study focused on supply chain aspects such as product integration, process integration, and internal processes at a Finnish company. The study seeks to enhance the knowledge of strategic and operational challenges promoting supply chain efficiency in the setting of the Finnish food sector. The more generic motive was to study the impact of integration of suppliers and internal departments on operating efficiency, cost minimization, and responsiveness to market needs. Specifically, to examine complications of product integration (for suppliers and customers) on supply chain performance, cost drivers of product development in terms of its mitigating or enhancing effects on cost competitiveness, as well as cost in customization in terms of customer satisfaction and supply chain sustainability.

The study is qualitative research in nature. The study used interviews with key personnel, including the Factory Manager (FM), Logistic Expert (LE), Purchase Manager (PM), and Line Manager (LM). The interview data was subjected to thematic analysis to find the patterns and discover the insights about aspects that included internal collaboration, product and process integration, supplier engagement, and technological interventions. In the interview analysis, functional cooperation and alignment from suppliers and digital tools like ERP were thought to strengthen coordination, minimize delays, and enable responsiveness. Enhancing quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, however, were outcomes reflecting participant perceptions rather than demonstrated performance results and were also associated with product development and customization.

The research finds that successful integration of the supply chains requires strategic alignment, collaboration, and technology adoption. By getting better product integration, continuous innovative product improvement, and through solid reseller engagement, the company can take better advantage of the flexibility that modern enterprise solutions offer, leading to improved performance, a stronger market position, and desirable ecosystem sustainability.
