Tiivistelmä
Large scale solar park installations in two different temperature zones the Heinineva Solar Park in Lapua, Finland, and urban solar installations close to Chennai, India are compared in this thesis. The analysis assesses the effects of temperature, seasonal variation, irradiance, and environmental factors on photovoltaic performance, design specifications, and long-term reliability. The author's expertise working in both hot tropical and frigid Nordic locations was coupled with technical reports, climatic statistics, and literature to provide a unique operational perspective.
Studies demonstrate that Chennai's high solar irradiation results in a larger annual energy yield, but heat, dust, and moisture cause efficiency losses. Lapua experiences decreased winter irradiance but advantages of colder tem-peratures, slower material deterioration, and consistent long-term performance. The study shows that environmental design instead of irradiation by itself in-fluences solar park effectiveness. Solutions are improved cooling methods for hot environments and greater storage and snow management systems for northern locations.
