This thesis addresses the issues of compassion fatigue (CF) in nursing fields. CF is defined as physical and psychological mental state resulting from long-term exposing to patients’ sufferings and trauma., and is becoming prominent concerns for healthcare professionals, especially due to high rate of nursing burn out and lack of nurses globally. The aim of thesis is to explore the role of mindfulness- based interventions (MBIs) in decreasing CF among nurses, also evaluate methods to apply mindfulness in nursing practice. Qualitative scoping literature review using content analysis is used as conducting methods, with main materials sources are peer- review articles publish from 2020- 2025, collected from international database/-. The result indicates that MBIs can help to alleviate CF in nursing though four different mechanisms: enhancing emotional regulation, promoting self-compassion, improving coping mechanisms and fostering resilience. Furthermore, seven strategies are also highlighted in this thesis to implement mindfulness into practice, including structured group sessions, consistent home practice, supportive environments, personalized plans, digital tools, and integration into nursing education. As conclusion, MBIs are proven to bel effective methods to not only reduce CF but also improve nurses’ mental well – beings, inner strength, and job satisfaction. Indeed, patient care quality is also enhanced by integration of MBIs not only into professional work but also nurses’ daily activities, and to larger extent,healthcare institutional settings.
