Topic/Purpose: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to describe nurses interventions with patients suffering from ischemic stroke, by highlighting various nursing interventions in reducing suffering, further complications, improving patients’ outcome and promoting recovery
Aim: This study aim is to examine the role of nurses in the intervention of patients suffering from ischemic stroke, with a focus on introducing innovative practice to enhance quality of life
Methodology: A qualitative systematic literature review was conducted; scientific articles were collected from EBSCO, PubMed, Medline and Google Scholar, guided by a prisma flow chart . A total of 11 peer-reviewed articles studies published between 2020-2025 were selected and analyzed using thematic and content analysis.
Result: The findings revealed 5 main themes such as nurse role in thrombolytic therapy administration, patient and family education, emotional and psychological support, physical mobilization and rehabilitation and finally promoting communication, it highlighted it outcome on ischemic stroke patients by providing a better quality of life.
Conclusion: The study concluded that nurses are the backbone in bridging clinical treatment with quality recovery, it highlighted that nurses are not only based on reducing complications and promoting independence but also address the psychological and mental state of the patients using evidence based approaches. It ended by aligning with the aim on how nurses improve the overall quality of life for ischemic stroke survivors and stroke management using various intervention
