Tiivistelmä
In the world of export logistics, efficient customs clearance is essential for smooth operations and fast trade.
In trade between Finland and England stricter documentation requirements has been implemented after Brexit which can lead to delays, fines, and rising costs.
This thesis will examinate and help addressing solutions, how documentation errors can affect the customs clearance process and extend the total lead time of shipments, this is all done with the help of company records, operational reports, and interviews analysis.
This study will identify the common errors in commercial invoices, export declarations, transport documents, and stakeholder compliance, these documents and information is often used when doing compliance and clearance with customs.
The errors addressed in this thesis will show that they significantly impact the clearance time and have direct impact on delivery reliability impacting the company’s reputation and positioning in the market.
These findings will also highlight that the need for accurate documentation, staff training, and digital verification systems is needed to reduce the mistakes and errors and will make sure that compliance in international trade regulations is done correctly.
this research will provide practical recommendations that could be implemented by logistics providers to optimize customs processes, minimize delays, and improve overall export performance.
