Käsihuuhteen käyttöohje lapsiperheille

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa lapsiperheille suunnattu käsihuuhteen käyttöohje DVD:n ja kirjallisen ohjeen muodossa ohjauksen apuvälineeksi päiväkirurgisen yksikön sairaanhoitajille. Opinnäytetyö lähestyy aihetta seuraavien tutkimuskysymysten avulla: mikä on käsihygienian merkitys hoitoon liittyvien infektioiden torjunnassa, mitä käsihuuhteella tarkoitetaan ja mitkä ovat käsihuuhteen käytön periaatteet sekä millaista on hyvä lapsiperheelle suunnattu ohjaus. Työn tavoitteena oli saada hoitajille apuväline ohjauksen tueksi ja tehostaa potilaan oman toiminnan kautta aseptista turvallisuutta. Tavoitteena oli myös kehittää omaa ammattitaitoamme liittyen ohjausmateriaalin tekemiseen ja ohjauksen toteuttamiseen.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin tuotokseen painottuvan opinnäytetyön menetelmällä. Teoriaosuus koostuu tieteellisistä artikkeleista, aiheeseen liittyvästä kirjallisuudesta sekä työelämän tiedoksiannoista. Tuotokset pohjautuivat teoriaosuuteen. Ohjattava asia, eli käsihuuhteen käyttö, käsiteltiin selkeästi ja informatiivisesti.

Tuotoksia käytetään päiväkirurgisen yksikön lasten odotustilassa, jossa DVD tulee pyörimään odotustilan televisiossa ja myös kirjallinen ohje tulee olemaan tilassa näkyvillä. Tuotokset mukailevat samaa käsikirjoitusta ja tukevat toisiaan. Ne tehtiin lapsille sopiviksi.

Tutkimusta kehittääkseen on aiheellista tutkia, onko yksikkö pystynyt konkreettisesti hyödyntämään tuotostamme ja miten käsihuuhteen käyttöohje on vaikuttanut yksikön hoitoon liittyvien infektioiden määrään. Jatkotutkimusehdotuksina olemme pohtineet, että olisi mielenkiintoista tietää, miten potilaiden käsihygienia toteutuu sairaalaolosuhteissa. Kokevatko potilaat käsihuuhteen käytön ohjauksen hyödyllisenä, osaavatko potilaat käyttää käsihuuhdetta oikeaoppisesti. Mielenkiintoista olisi myös tietää, pystytäänkö potilaiden käsihuuhteen käytön lisäämisellä vaikuttamaan hoitoon liittyvien infektioiden leviämiseen.

The purpose of this study was to produce a user’s manual on the use of hand disinfection in form of a DVD and a written instruction for families with children. This manual is to be used as a guidance tool by nurses in the day surgery unit. Our study approaches this theme by answering the following questions: how is the use of hand disinfectant relevant in the prevention of treatment related infections, what is the meaning of the term hand disinfection, what are the principals for the use of hand disinfectants, and what is a good way to offer guidance for families with children? The goal of this study was to create a support tool for nurses for the guidance of patients and also to accelerate the aseptic safety through the patients’ own actions. The goal was also to develop our own knowledge in creating guidance material.

This study was functional in nature. The theoretical part utilizes scientific articles, literature on the subject, and of notifications from the working life. The products created are based on the theory. How guidance should be carried out, how the hand disinfectants should be used, was dealt clearly and informatively.

The products will be used in the waiting room of the day surgery unit, where the DVD will be played on the TV and the written instruction will also be on display. Both products were produced using the same manuscript, to support each other, and they are child appropriate.

To develop this study, it should be studied whether the unit has had concrete benefits of our product, and how the user’s manual on using the hand disinfectant has affected the treatment related infections of this unit. As a suggestion for further studies it would be interesting to know, how the patients’ hand hygiene is carried out in hospitals. Do the patients consider the guidance of the use of hand disinfectants useful, and are the patients able to use them correctly. It would also be interesting to know, if the spreading of treatment related infections can be influenced by increasing the patients use of hand disinfectants.
