Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyössä kehitettiin yritys X:n sisäistä raportointia vastaamaan paremmin heidän nykyisiä tarpeitaan. Kehitystyön tavoitteena oli parantaa käyttäjäkokemusta, yhtenäistää johdon raportointia ja luoda selkeä polku tulevaisuuden kehitystä varten. Tämä opinnäytetyö oli osana laajempaa raportoinnin muutosta, mutta se rajautui vain PowerBI-pohjaiseen raportointiin ja sen muutoksiin.
Raportointikokonaisuutta selkeytettiin ja tehtiin käyttäjäystävällisemmäksi vähentämällä raporttien määrää. Työn menetelmänä tarkasteltiin PowerBI-sovelluksia ja raportteja niiden käyttöasteen, sisällön sekä tarpeen näkökulmasta. Näiden kriteerien perusteella raportointijärjestelmästä joko poistettiin tai yhdistettiin sovelluksia ja raportteja. Opinnäytetyössä luotiin myös kattava kriteeristö hyvälle raportoinnille ja sen käytännöille.
Kehitystyön myötä päästiin tavoitteeseen aiempaa toimivammasta raportointijärjestelmästä, jota voidaan myös jatkokehittää tulevaisuudessa. Kehitystyön aikana kohdatut haasteet antoivat arvokkaita opetuksia yritykselle, joita voidaan hyödyntää tulevissa vastaavissa kehittämistöissä. In this thesis company X’s internal reporting was developed to better meet their current needs. The objective of the develpement work was to improve user experience, unify management reporting and to create a clear path for future development needs. This thesis was part of a broader shift in reporting in the company but was limited in scope to only focus on PowerBI-based reporting and its changes.
The method used in the thesis to reduce the number of reports in the system was to examine the data on how much they were used, their content, and their overall need. Based on these criteria reports and applications were either kept, deleted, or combined in the system. In addition, a comprehensive set of criteria on good reporting and its practices was created for this thesis.
Through the development work the objectives were met and the result was a more functional reporting system that can be more easily be developed further in the future. The challenges faced during the development provided valuable lessons for the company that can be utilized in similar future development projects.
