Tiivistelmä
This thesis reflects the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Engagement which influences Customer behavior, Loyalty and business growth in the retail sector. This research focuses on a small retail business operating in Seinäjoki, Finland, and examines how structured CSR practices and Community Engagement can enhance its business growth and development long term.
A mixed method approach was followed, which allowed both quantitative surveys and qualitative interview with the employer. Survey data was collected from 51 respondents through a questionnaire published through Webropol. The findings included positive perceptions about Corporate Social Responsibility among customers. The results further showed CSR activities related to environmental responsibility, sustainability and community support significantly influence customer purchasing decisions, loyalty and willingness to give recommendations for the business.
This research also identifies the key gaps in the business, including the lack of proper CSR policy in the company and limited visibility for ongoing activities. Based on the findings, recommendations are provided for implementing eco-friendly initiatives, strengthening community engagement, and improving communication about the CSR activities.
Overall, this research shows effective CSR and Community Engagement along with Sustainability can serve as strategic means for improving brand reputation, building customer relationships, and sustainable business growth in the retail sector.
