The main objective of the study is to evaluate the crisis management practice adopted by modern businesses and identify the key strategies that help in building the organisational resilience. For this study a qualitative multiple-case study approach has been deployed, in which secondary data from various sources consists of industry reports, academic literature and news report, has been collected.
The findings of the study shows that the effective crisis management is a result of proactive preparation, transparent stakeholder communication and leadership. Organisations with all of these have seen recovering rapidly and maintaining higher public trust. In the contrary, those organisations opted for otherwise, has worsened the reputational damage.
Henceforth, the effective crisis management must be core strategic priority rather than reactive meaning. Therefore, the organisations who are serious with their lasting resilience is expected to embed their crisis management training in their operations. It will help them to be better positioned against uncertainty.
