Sisältörakenteiden suunnittelu, toteutus ja hyödyntäminen WordPress-ympäristössä

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on suunnitella, toteuttaa ja hyödyntää sisältörakenteita WordPress-sisällönhallintajärjestelmässä liiketoimintanäkökulmasta. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana on Kalustetalo R-Top Oy. Opinnäytetyö on osa laajempaa projektia, johon liittyy sisältörakenteiden lisäksi graafinen suunnittelu ja käyttökoulutus. Projektin lopputuloksena syntyy verkkosivusto.

Työn teoriaosa käsittelee sisältörakenteiden suunnittelua ja WordPressin tietoarkkitehtuuria. Lähdemateriaalina on käytetty yleisesti sisältöarkkitehtuuria käsitteleviä teoksia, WordPressin dokumentaatiota sekä WordPress-kehittäjille suunnattuja teoksia. Teoriaosa pohjustaa sisältörakenteiden suunnitteluperiaatteet ja lähtökohdat WordPressin hyödyntämiselle sisällönhallintajärjestelmänä.

Empiirinen osa koostuu sisältörakenteiden määrittämisestä, toteutuksesta ja hyödyntämisestä. Työssä esitellään sisältölähtöinen prosessi verkkosivuston suunnitteluun ja toteutukseen. Esitettyä prosessia voidaan hyödyntää pohjana web-kehitysprojekteissa, jotka vaativat sisältörakenteiden suunnittelua.

The objective of this thesis was to design, implement and utilize content structures in WordPress for business needs. The client of the thesis was Kalustetalo R-Top Oy. The thesis was part of a broader project which includes graphical design and instructions. The final result of this project was a web site.

The theoretical part of the thesis consists of designing the content structures and description of the information architecture of WordPress. Source material includes general literature of content structure design, WordPress documentation and guides aimed for WordPress developers. The theoretical part underlays the design principles of content structures and the baseline for utilizing WordPress as a content management system.

The empirical part consists of defining the required content structures, implementing these structures and utilizing them. The thesis presents a content-oriented process for designing and building a website. The process can be utilized in projects that require designing of content structures
