Context-aware mobile application design and development are becoming popular nowadays. The Context-awareness solution is applied in mobile applications mainly to anticipate users’ needs and deliver appropriate content based on users’ contexts.
This paper reveals different approaches to design automation to build our framework. We define the blocks of our context-aware design framework (CADF).
Furthermore, we demonstrate and assess our architectural solution in a mobile health application prototype to demonstrate a proof concept.
The main aim of the CADF prototype within a healthcare mobile application project (mHealth) is to reduce the need for users to actively input information in the system by proposing context-aware content to the users based on their work habits and the context of use (e.g. the environment where the application is in use).
Context-aware design makes use of several different ICT technologies, such as Design-Pattern, Object-Oriented HTML & CSS, Process Automation, UX best practices, Web Frameworks and Data-driven design to dynamically generate a user interface for a random amount of information collected from the back-end. This paper is a first step to what might become a more efficient approach to web and user-experience design automation.
