Kehittämisen kautta rakentui uudenlainen tapa yhteiseen, kaikkia osallistavaan ja sitouttavaan kehittämistyöhön This development work was carried out as thesis in Tutoris Co during the years 2008 – 2011. The aim of this development work was to evaluate and further develop the company's rehabilitation service operations model Startti – Matka –Pysäkki®.
In the early stage of the development work answers to the following questions were searched: How do the rehabilitees, the people and the community close to them experience the rehabilitation realised according to the Startti- Matka- Pysäkki ® rehabilitation service operations model? How do the therapists of Tutoris Co evaluate their own actions as facilitators of the Startti – Matka -Pysäkki® rehabilitation service operations model? During the development work, the main question was: What kind of development needs can be defined, based on customer feedback and the therapists' self-evaluations? At the end of the development work the research question was: What is the Startti –Matka-Pysäkki® rehabilitation service operations model like after the development work has been done?
The theoretical framework was based on ecocultural theory. Child- and family – centered multiprofessionalism and communal are terms closely related to ecocultural theory, and they also were the key terms of this development work. The development work was realised as a participatory action research.
As a result of this development work the theoretical basis for the operations model became clearer and the tacit knowledge of the therapists became much more visible. Also, the significance of client-centered, community-centered rehabilitation in the therapists' work became stronger. Through this development work, a new way to develop work together, in a way that involves all parties and makes them common was constructed. To further develop the Startti –Matka-Pysäkki® operations model, being community-centered and client-centered as well as utilising action practices (GAS, ICF) used all over the country were chosen as the following development measures.
