Maahanmuuttajalapsen sopeutumisen tukeminen : Opas osallistavampaan monikulttuuriseen kristilliseen kasvatukseen Oulun Helluntaiseurakunnan lapsityössä

Abstract

Opinnäytetyöni tavoitteena oli kehittää Oulun Helluntaiseurakunnan lapsityötä tuottamalla heille materiaalia, joka sisältää niin toiminnallista kuin teoriatietoa niistä asioista ja teemoista, joita on hyvä ottaa huomioon monikulttuurisia lapsiryhmiä ohjattaessa. Suunnittelin ja toteutin tätä tarkoitusta varten sähköisen oppaan, joka koostuu maahanmuuttajuuteen liittyvästä teoriasta sekä erilaisista osallistavista toimintaideoista. Opas on tarkoitettu Oulun Helluntaiseurakunnassa 3-12 -vuotaiden kanssa tehtävään lapsityöhön, joka koostuu pyhäkoulu- sekä kerhotyöstä. Näitä ryhmiä ohjaavat vapaaehtoiset lapsityön toimijat, joiden työtä opas tukee.

Työni tietoperusta koostuu kristillisen kasvatuksen teemoista, 3-12 -vuotaiden kehitysvaiheista, maahanmuuton syistä sekä sen vaikutuksista lapseen ja toiminnallisuuden sekä osallisuuden käsitteistä.

Toteutin opinnäytetyöni tiiviissä yhteistyössä Oulun Helluntaiseurakunnan lapsityönkoordinaattorin kanssa. Päätimme yhdessä oppaaseen tulevista aihealueista, jonka jälkeen hankin tietoa sosiaali- ja opetusalan kirjallisuudesta sekä kokemustietoa jo pitkään lapsityötä tehneiltä vapaaehtoisilta.

Tuottamani oppaan pohjalta tullaan jatkossa kouluttamaan Oulun Helluntaiseurakunnan vapaaehtoisia lapsityön toimijoita ja sen sähköinen muoto mahdollistaa oppaan helpon päivittämisen tarpeen tullessa.

The objective of my bachelor’s thesis was to develop Children’s Ministry at the Oulu Pentecostal Church through providing information about the things that need to be considered when there are immigrant children in children’s groups. The information was to be both participatory and theoretic. For this purpose, I planned and made an electronic guide book, which consists of the theoretic aspects of immigration and participatory methods in work with children. The guide book was made for the Oulu Pentecostal Church’s Children’s Ministry for the children aged from 3 to 12 of age. The Children’s Ministry for those age groups consists mainly of Sunday School and free time activity clubs. These groups are led by volunteers whose work the guide book is made to support.

The theoretical base for my bachelor’s thesis consists of the themes of Christian education, those of activating methods and participation, the developmental psychology of 3 to 12 –year-olds and the reasons of immigration and the effects of it especially on children.

I carried out my bachelor’s thesis in collaboration with the Children’s Ministry Coordinator of the Oulu Pentecostal Church. Together we decided on the theoretical themes for the guide book. After the decision was made I started to do research and to gather knowledge from the literature of social work and education as well as from the Children’s Ministry volunteers.

The guide book will be used to train both old and new Children’s Ministry volunteers and if it is needed in the future the guide book is easy to update due to its electronic form.
