Lac Belot -yhtyeen levynjulkaisukonsertti

Abstract

Opinnäytetyöni käsittelee Lac Belot yhtyeen ”ABRACADABRA!” -debyyttialbumin levynjulkaisukonserttia. Konsertti pidettiin 19.10.2018 Temppeliaukion kirkossa Helsingissä. Opinnäytetyöni koostuu taiteellisesta sekä kirjallisesta osuudesta.

Konsertin taiteellisena tavoitteena oli luoda tapahtuma, joka eläisi yhdessä ABRACADABRA! -albumin kanssa. Pyrin vahvasti siihen, että konsertista muodostuisi ikään kuin fyysinen representaation albumin luomasta maailmasta. Keskityin myös huolellisesti tekijöihin, jotka vaikuttavat konsertissa kuulijan ja esiintyjän sekä tilan ja musiikin välisiin dynamiikkoihin.

Kirjallisessa osiossa avaan tapahtumajärjestämisen eri vaiheita ja vaikeuksia. Avaan myös konsertin taiteellista sisältöä, ja motiiveja taiteellisten päätösten takana. Puhun myös yhteistyökumppaneistani, yhteistyön tärkeydestä ja kerron konsertin ääni- sekä valoteknisen puolen toteuttamisesta. Toivon että kirjallinen osuus tarjoaa ohjeita ja työkaluja tapahtumajärjestämisestä kiinnostuneille. Sivuan myös hieman Lac Belot -yhtyeen historiaa, debyyttialbumin syntyä ja sisältöä.

Konsertin toteutus onnistui hyvin ja prosessi edisti ammatillista pätevyyttäni monilla eri osa-alueilla. Toivon myös, että työlläni rohkaisen kunnianhimoista ajattelua tapahtumien järjestämiseen yleisellä tasolla ja todistaa, että tapahtumanjärjestämiseen ei välttämättä tarvitse aiempaa kokemusta aiheesta.

The subject of my thesis is the record release concert of Lac Belot’s debut album ‘ABRA-CADABRA!”. The concert was held at Temppeliaukio Church October 19th 2018. My thesis consists of an artistic and a written part.

The artistic goal of the concert was to create an event, which would exist as a part of the debut album “ABRACADABRA!”. I strongly aspired for the concert to be a sort of a physical representation of the world created by the album. I carefully concentrated on the factors, that would affect the dynamics between the listener and the artist, as well as the space and the music.

In the written part of the thesis, I will talk about the different phases and difficulties of organ-izing an event. I will also talk about the creative content of the concert, and the motives be-hind them. In addition, I will talk about my co-operation partners, the importance of co-operation and I will tell about the technical aspects of the concert. I wish that the written part would provide help and tools for those interested in event organizing. I will briefly talk about the history of Lac Belot, and the content and birth of the debut album.

The execution of the concert went as planned and the process improved my professional competence in many different areas. I hope that my thesis will encourage ambitious thinking in event organizing and prove, that you don’t necessarily need previous experience in order to organize an event.
