Luovat työtavat lasten kitaransoiton alkeisopetuksessa : Kohti kitaraa -oppimateriaalin tekoprosessin kuvaus

Abstract

Tässä opinnäytetyössäni tutkin millaisia erilaisia luovia työtapoja voidaan käyttää 5–7-vuotiaiden lasten kitaransoitonopetuksessa, millaista oppimateriaalia voidaan luoda alkeiskitaransoiton opetukseen ja miten näiden ajatusten pohjalta tekemäni Kohti kitaraa -oppimateriaali toimii käytännössä. Esittelen varhaisiän musiikkikasvatuksen työtapoja 5–7 -vuotiaiden näkökulmasta ja peilaten niitä opetushallituksen taiteen perusopetuksen laajan oppimäärän tavoitteisiin. Kuvailen oman oppimateriaalini tekoprosessia, sisältöä ja käytännön palautteita. Tutkimusasetelma työssäni on laadullinen ja sisältää havainnointia, itse-reflektointia ja haastattelua.

Opinnäytetyöni tuotoksena syntyi oppimateriaalia alkeiskitaransoiton ryhmä- sekä yksityisopetusta varten. Sävelsin ja sanoitin pikkukitaristeille sopivia lauluja sekä avasin erilai-sia työtapoja, joita kunkin laulun parissa voidaan käyttää. Lauluihin liittyy myös kuvia sekä tehtäviä lapsille. Tämä materiaali julkaistaan kirjana lapsille, heidän vanhemmilleen ja opet-tajille nimellä ”Kohti kitaraa – alkeissoiton oppikirja lapsille ja lasten kanssa työskenteleville”. Kerron tässä työssä oppimateriaalin sisältöön vaikuttaneista valinnoistani sekä havainnoiden ja haastatellen saamastani palautteesta lapsilta ja muilta opettajilta. Opinnäytetyö sisälsi oppimateriaalin testaamista käytännön työssä 10 kitaramuskariryhmäni kanssa Pop & Jazz Konservatoriolla Helsingissä lukuvuonna 2018-2019. Esittelin materiaalia myös muille opettajille ja sain heiltä palautetta, josta myös kerron tässä opinnäytetyössä.

Tämän opinnäytetyön johtopäätöksenä voidaan todeta, että tämän tyyppiselle suomenkieliselle oppimateriaalille on tarvetta ja Kohti kitaraa-kirjaa varten tekemäni materiaali otetaan selvästi innolla vastaan. Erilaiset luovat työtavat ja tehtävät oppimateriaalissa lisäsivät oppi-laiden keskittymistä ja motivaatiota soittamiseen. Kirjan kuvat koettiin hyvin innostavina. Opettajien palautteen myötä voidaan todeta materiaalin avanneen myös heille uusia tapoja ja näkökulmia lasten kanssa musisoimiseen ja antaneen lisäideoita omaan opetustyöhön.

In my final project, I examine what kind of creative working methods can be used when teaching the guitar to children aged 5–7, what kind of learning material can be created for beginners’ guitar lessons and how the learning material I created for the guitar school Towards the Guitar works in real life. I present the methods of early childhood education for 5–7-year-olds and discuss them in reference to the objectives of the Advanced Syllabus of the National Core Curriculum for Music and introduce a selection of beginner’s learning materials for music playschool and guitar playing. The main part of my project report describes the process of creating new learning material for children who are starting to play the guitar and reflect on the process. The concrete outcome of my final project is a new guitar school for children. I composed and wrote lyrics for new children’s songs and made illustrations for them. For each song, there is 1) sheet music for those who know how to read music, 2) a page with instructions for children, 3) an ideas page for how to work on a piece and 4) a page with tasks related to the theme of the song, for example, coloring pictures.

The guitar school can be used with groups and individual students. It will be published as a book for children, their parents and music teachers book with the full title Towards the Guitar – Beginners’ Guitar School for Children and Adults Working with Children. In this report, I discuss the choices I made during the creative process. I tested the material with 10 guitar groups at the music playschool of the Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory and I also presented guitar school for other music teachers. I edited the material according to the feedback from children and teachers. The methods that I used were reflection, interviewing and observation. After analysing the final results, I can draw the conclusions from the survey that this kind of learning material for children is necessary and my guitar school Towards the Guitar is highly anticipated. The trial showed that my material improves children’s concentration and motivation for playing. The children found the pictures of the book inspiring and motivating. After summarizing the teachers’ feedback, it can be said that my guitar school introduces new approaches, ideas and methods to make music with children.
