Tiivistelmä
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence have undoubtedly been the buzzwords in the field of technology and science. Though they have been around for some for approximately 70 years, it has been gaining more widespread attention and popularity in recent years because of its limitless possibilities, applications, and implementations.
The objective of the study was to gain insights from people whether they are optimistic or pessimistic about their future with Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence. Achieving this objective meant building a simple web application to showcase some machine learning implementations in the browser and enquiring people with and without an IT background whether they were excited or worried about this hotly debated subject. The data was then analysed and divided into three parts.
The outcome was a working single page web application using JavaScript and its framework in gathering data through a questionnaire type of survey. Data visualization is of the results is also available right after participating to the said survey.
The primary objective of the study was met. This thesis provides a clear perception that people are optimistic as to their future with machine learning / artificial intelligence. An additional outcome was having a web application proved to be successful in gathering more data as it can reach a wider audience.
