The food service industry has been transformed quickly due to the development of technologies and customer behaviors. The number of internet users increased significantly over the past few years and most customers use their smartphones to look up restaurant information. There are more and more online restaurant searching and delivery services, however they have fees and threaten the independence of the restaurant business. A restaurant should have a website to enhance its visibility, connect with customers, build a unique identity and establish brand recognition.
This thesis includes the designing and implementation of the front-end web application for the restaurant’s website. The website is a web application using Isomorphic JavaScript, means that the web application can be executed and rendered on both the client-side and the server-side. The web application is a Single Page Application and the user interface is constructed from React library.
The final outcome, the Ravintola Fit web application, has a modern design, correct function, is straightforward to use and is approved by the restaurant owner. The web application is responsible for providing information and menus of the restaurant, creating an impression for visitors about the style and feel of the restaurant. The website was delivered and published. Furthermore, it can be maintained, enhanced with other advanced features.
