This paper is mainly focused on the need of change management to the companies to acquire a competitive edge in contemporary market. Moreover, the research will discuss the outcome that the change has upon market share and profitability. The main question or area focused during the research was to find why the change is required and how it is done. The process and findings are also distinguished with the modern theories of change management to analyse and draw appropriate conclusion.
The literature part highlights the reader an introduction and a foundation of change management and its theories relating to the company. In addition, the role of management, managers, leadership skills are also discussed that has an important role in change process.
With the data and information collected from the interview with owners, the empirical study section will elaborate the status of the company and reasons for change and the outcomes after the changes are made. In this section, the author also tries to give his opinions and recommendations that businesses should consider changes when required to maintain in the competitive market. The author also tries to emphasize that, the change is a compulsory part of the business process and it is happening most of the time whether intentionally or unintentionally. There is sometimes a situation where change management takes place as a complete renewal of the business model and its structure. Changes can be internal or external, depending on the situation. If an appropriate change management process is applied, there is high probability of being successful in business.
