This thesis includes a changeover of a company’s current embroidery software from Brother BES100 to a newer EOS3.0-software made by Compucon. The thesis also encompasses the general maintenance and adjustments for the embroidery machines.
In addition to the software changeover and machine maintenance, a user manual was also drawn up for the new embroidery software to ensure that the users have all the new tools and features in their control.
At first the embroidery machines were thoroughly cleaned and checked over. After the visual check of the state of the machines, the evaluation of what parts should be restored and what should be replaced was done. The adjustments of the embroidery machine required a thread tension measurement tool and this tool was not available. However, the adjustments were carried out by testing and using the available information from manufacturer’s service manuals. Finally, the embroidery software was installed onto the company’s work computer and the user manual was drawn up.
Some parts of the machine were replaced but it appeared that most of the parts just required a good cleaning. In the end, the adjustments were successful despite the absence of the tool and the embroidery machines were once again fully operational. The embroidery software changeover was a success as it reduced the time spent on the computer and increased the quality of the workpieces.
