Terveyden edistämisen Internet-sivut Länsi-Pohjan sairaanhoitopiirille

Abstract

Uusi terveydenhuoltolaki (1326/2010) astui voimaan 1. toukokuuta 2011. Laki velvoittaa sairaanhoitopiirien kuntayhtymiä tarjoamaan asiantuntemusta ja tukea kunnille ter-veyden ja hyvinvoinnin edistämiseksi. Sairaanhoitopiirien vastuulla on tuoda tietoa alueen kuntien yhteiseen käyttöön terveyden edistämisen strategioista, koulutuksista, toi-mintamalleista ja toimintaohjelmista.

Idea Internet-sivujen tekoon tuli Kemi-Tornio ammattikorkeakoulun opinnäytetyöpankista, jonne Länsi-Pohjan sairaanhoitopiirin terveyden edistämisen johtoryhmä oli lait-tanut aiheen terveyden edistämisen Internet-sivujen suunnittelusta. Tämä toiminnallinen ja työelämän tarpeista lähtevä opinnäytetyö toteutettiin yhteistyössä Länsi-Pohjan sairaanhoitopiirin terveyden edistämisen johtoryhmän kanssa. Internet-sivuista tuli näkyvä osa terveyden edistämistä organisaation käyttöön.

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa terveyden edistämisen Internet-sivut Länsi-Pohjan sairaanhoitopiirin asukkaiden ja terveydenhuoltohenkilöstön käyttöön. Projektityön tavoitteena oli auttaa kuntalaisia ja terveydenhuollon ammattilaisia löytämään ajankohtaista tietoa terveyden edistämisestä. Terveyden edistämisen Internet-sivujen avulla voidaan vastata tämän päivän haasteisiin ja tarpeisiin.

Opinnäytetyön teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä käsitellään terveyden edistämistä sekä Internet viestinnän merkitystä terveyden edistämisessä. Teoriaosassa kuvataan myös projektin toteutumista, jonka tekeminen aloitettiin syksyllä 2010, ja valmis työ julkaistiin marraskuussa 2011. Jatkotutkimus aiheeksi nousi tarve saada tietoa sivujen toimivuudesta asiakkaiden näkökulmasta.

Nykyinen terveydenhuolto kokee suuria muutoksia teknologian kehittymisen myötä. Sähköinen tieto- ja viestintäteknologia ovat tuoneet uusia ulottuvuuksia tiedon saantiin, mutta se on myös samalla tuonut uusia haasteita terveydenhuoltojärjestelmään. Hyvinvointiteknologian käyttäminen ja kehittyminen vaativat koulutusta ja teknistä asiantuntijuutta. Eettistä asiantuntijuutta ja tarkastelua tarvitaan terveydenhuoltojärjestelmän teknologian käytössä ja kehittämisessä.

The new Finnish healthcare law (1326/2010) came into effect on the 1st May 2011. The new law commits the Hospital Districts to provide expertise and support for municipali-ties to promote the health and well-being. The hospital districts have the responsibility to provide information to municipalities about health promotion strategies, education, operational models and plans of actions.

The idea of developing health promotion Internet pages was found from Kemi- Tornio Polytechnic’s thesis bank where North-Western Hospital District’s health promotion management team had put the topic of developing Internet webpages of health promotion. This thesis is a functional and based on the needs of everyday working life and its development project. It is carried out in cooperation with the health promotion management team in North-Western Hospital District. Websites became a visible part of health promotion for use in this organization.

This thesis aim of produce was to the work carried out in the development and use of a health promotion website for the North-Western Hospital District. This resource could be accessed by both residents and healthcare staff in hospital district. The aim of this project is to help inhabitants and health care professionals to find current information about health promotion for the municipality. Health Promotion website can be used to meet today's challenges and needs in healthcare.

The theoretical framework of the thesis dealt with the health promotion as well as the meaning of internet communications when promoting health. The theoretical part describes also the process/ implementation of the project, which began in autumn 2010 and the completed project was published in November 2011. Further research theme of increased demand for information pages functionality of the customers' perspective.

Current healthcare systems are experiencing major changes in technological develop-ments. Electronic information and communication technology have brought new dimensions of information, but it also brings new challenges to the healthcare system. Using and developing of the welfare technology require education and technical expertise. An ethical expertise and review are also needed when using and developing technology in our healthcare system.
