The purpose of this thesis is to investigate employers’ aspect on the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The thesis examines the current state of the education and labor market. The work has been restricted to accounting firms. The theoretical part is about the Finnish educational system, the Bachelor of Business Administration degree, financial administration and the labor market for economics. The empirical part has been done through interviews with five different accounting firms in Vaasa. The results of the interviews were very interesting. Employers find that a person with a BBA degree, with financial management as a specialization, has good potential to work as an accountant. Employers believe that the education could have more courses in calculation of salaries to meet the labor market needs. In addition, it appeared that the possible termination of the Swedish language programme at VAMK, University of Applied Sciences would have a very negative consequences for the accounting firms in Vaasa.
