Tiivistelmä
This thesis was done for the full-power converter segment of The Switch. In the thesis the implementation of parent company Yaskawa AC drives into current and future products was researched.
The main objectives were to find out how the VFDs will be mechanically implemented into a current solution, and what challenges with the implementation are. In addition, the purpose was to discover how much the cost of the final product would decrease. The information gathered and tools created during the thesis are also beneficial for future design projects.
The results of the thesis were a concept 3D model of the VFD cabinet, detailed cost estimations, cooling calculations, component calculations, a comparison with competitor products, and information about the implementation of Yaskawa VFDs into current and future products.
