Tiivistelmä
This thesis examines how a digital signature functions and how the framework is
set up, as it is sometimes beneficial to not have to depend on third parties for vital
business operations. Some third party service providers have the option to take their service offline or to change it with no prior notice, according to their terms of service.
The digital signature needs to be secure, so it is supported by a public key encryption to ensure this. A public key encryption is a part of a public key infrastructure which manages public key certificates. The research material
consists mostly of web pages of the service providers used in the implementation.
After implementing a proof of concept digital signature framework and doing manual testing, it seems to function exactly like another commercial grade digital signature provider that it was tested against.
