Tiivistelmä
This final project outlines a circular economy homeware design brand concept, from brand idea to product prototypes. It also presents the basis of the concept and the development method and its results.
The circular economy approach is receiving broad support right now. The emphasis, in the case of homeware, is on durability, repairing and recycling. This final project explores if recycling could successfully be taken to its extreme: new products made from old ones on a regular basis.
The goal was a high-level circular economy business idea that could be launched credibly. The development method was to try and create compatible groups from manufacturing materials and processes, product designs and branding until one succeeded.
The result is a homeware design brand: a family of prototypes made with a life-size 3D printer from biocomposite material (for its theoretical launch phase), a visual identity, marketing messaging and a vision of how to expand in the future.
