Sustainable supplier is a key term in sustainable business. It is important to choose the right supplier who will support the company’s sustainable goals.
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis research is to clarify the relationship between sustainability and supplier management, and to see sustainable supplier management at a general strategic level, in addition to the production level. The research takes a position on the measures that can be taken by companies and organizations to reduce their own environmental load.
The purpose of this research is to gather principles of sustainable supplier management using different theoretical framework sources to show the actual effects on the environment and turn business-related threats into opportunities.
Mostly, it is important to identify suitable factors that can lead sustainable supplier to thrive, and related indicators to measure the sustainability achievements.
The idea is to demonstrate an overall sustainable business strategy from an operational point of view. The research investigates the background of the changing business environment caused by sustainable supplier management strategies, the history of the supply chain, the importance of business strategy changes, and developing long-term sustainable supplier relationships.
