In the Finnish food market, sushi is one of the representatives of Asian food. Its rich nutrition and fresh taste are very popular among Finnish customers. Since 2017, Itsudemo Oy has been providing high-quality sushi products and services which bring the most popular sushi brands in Finland.
With the development of this company, the new project Itsudemo sushi bar has been operating since May 2019. The sushi bar is the product of extensive and deep cooperation with Finnish supermarkets, especially with the S group. In line with the concept of moving restaurants into supermarkets and caters to the demand for sushi products in the Finnish market. Currently, 42 Itsudemo sushi bars are in operation. How to further explore and occupy the Finnish ready-to-eat sushi market, expand market share, solve the pain points of insufficient capacity and limited operation of the existing business is a problem in front of the company.
The goal of this thesis was to investigate and assess the feasibility of the Itsudemo sushi factory in the Uusimaa region. For the study, data was collected using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. This study focuses on risk management using a
combination of the PESTEL analysis and Porter’s Five Forces, also with Ansoff’s matrix and the SWOT analysis method as the theoretical framework.
Based on the results of research and analysis, it is necessary for Itsudemo Oy to establish a sushi factory in the Uusimaa region. First, it meets the needs of Itsudemo Oy's main boxed sushi business development strengthens product diversification and brand competitiveness, and diversifies. At the same time, it also satisfies the customers' requirements for high-quality products and conforms to the law of market development.
