People spend a big part of their time at work, so work affects mental and physical health and well-being. Working can cause a great number of common mental problems such as stress, anxiety, and trouble sleeping. Therefore, well-being becomes an essential target for each employee to gain to maintain good mental health.
This thesis aims to provide methods supporting and encouraging good practices for employers and employees to obtain a certain level of well-being in overall health. It is also about ensuring organizations play roles as the leads of good mental health and create a compassionate environment where everyone is valued.
The thesis was carried out by using a quantitative approach which mainly collects perceptions of employees through survey. The survey has been done with the Google form platform and involved many employees in different sectors of work. The survey aimed to collect points of view of managers and staff regarding well-being at work and, in addition, to understand what well-being issues they experienced during their lifetime of careers.
The well-being of employees is evaluated through how productive level they perform at work, how happy they are every day at the workplace, how much success they can contribute to the organization. Hence, it would be said that well-being is crucial to employees’ health but also vital to the productivity of the organizations.
