Kartoitus tietomallien hyödyntämisestä rakennustuotannossa

Abstract

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten työn tilanneen yrityksen työnjohtajat käyttävät tietomalleja ja miten he haluaisivat käyttää tietomalleja rakennustuotannossa. Osana opinnäytetyötä oli myös selvitys yrityksen käytössä olevien tietomallien kehitystarpeista, jotta työnjohtajat käyttäisivät niitä enemmän työssään. Työn tavoitteisiin kuului myös käyttöohjekirjan laatiminen tietomallien tarkasteluohjelmalle. Tutkimuksen tulokset huomioitiin käyttöohjekirjassa. Opinnäytetyön aihe sai alkunsa tietomallien käytön nopeasta yleistymisestä rakentamisessa ja tämän vuoksi ilmaantuneesta epäilyksestä, ottavatko työnjohtajat tietomalleista kaiken mahdollisen hyödyn irti.

Työn alussa selvitettiin lähdeaineiston perusteella tietomallin ominaisuuksia, hyötyjä ja tavoitteita. Seuraavaksi tehtiin kysely sähköpostin välityksellä työn tilanneen yrityksen työnjohtajille. Lopuksi kyselytutkimuksen tulosten analysoinnin ja pohdinnan jälkeen tehtiin havaintojen perusteella tutkimukseen osallistuneille työnjohtajille räätälöity käyttöohjekirja tietomallien tarkasteluohjelmalle.

Opinnäytetyön tuloksena saatiin käsitys työn tilanneen yrityksen työnjohtajien tietomallien käyttökokemuksista. Lisäksi saatiin tietoa, mitä tietomallin ominaisuuksia he pitävät tärkeimpinä ja miten malleja tulisi jatkossa jo suunnitteluvaiheessa kehittää, jotta työnjohtajat käyttäisivät niitä enemmän työssään rakennuksen tuotantovaiheessa. Työnjohtajien tärkeimpinä pitämät tietomallin ominaisuudet huomioiden laadittiin käyttöohjekirja, jota he tulevat käyttämään tukena tietomallin käytössä.

The purpose of this thesis was to study the BIM user experiences of the construction site foremen in the client organization and how they would prefer to use BIM in building production in the future. A part of this thesis included an inquiry of developmental needs for building information models (BIM) currently in use by the organization. The aim was to make BIM more tempting for the construction site foremen. One of the objectives was also to compile a user manual for BIM examination software. The inquiry results were taken in consideration while compiling the user manual. The thesis was based on the increasing usage of building information models in construction and the suspicion whether construction site foremen were taking full advantage of BIM.

First, the properties, advantages and goals of BIM were clarified. Next, a survey was sent by email to the construction site foremen in the client organization. Finally, after analyzing and contemplating the results of the survey, a tailor-made user manual for BIM examination software was compiled for the foremen who took part in the survey.

As a result of this thesis, a conception was formed of the BIM user experiences of the foremen in the client organization. Additionally, information was gained of the preferred properties of BIM and how building information models should be further developed in the future already in the building design stage in order to make them more appealing for construction foremen to use in building production. The BIM properties that the foremen regarded as the most important were taken into account while making the user manual. The user manual will be assisting the client organization’s foremen in the use of the building information models in the future.
