Developing a website for online consumers to find foreign businesses in Finland

Abstract

In Finland, there is an ever-growing number of foreign individuals moving and creating businesses in the country. These businesses give consumers, foreign and citizen, a chance to experience foreign cuisines and goods from businesses in the city. Many buyers pay additional fees for shipping and customs due to buying online internationally. Having knowledge of local foreign businesses, would give consumers a chance to buy them at reasonable prices and save money. This thesis is to develop a website for potential users that are interested in finding foreign businesses in Finland. This can range from visitors, students and those that live in Finland. The purpose is to assist international and local individuals in Finland involved in buying from foreign businesses. The main objective is to develop a functional website that serves to be simple to use and gives customers resources to find foreign businesses in Finland. The website represents the knowledge gained from previous studies and information from reputable web development sites. The website is to create a prototype product that functions by having information available about businesses and the cities they are located in. The purpose exists to gain more knowledge on web development and to improve on web building skills. Furthermore, to increase insight for users that interact with the businesses in Finland for foreigners.
