Koiran keuhkojen natiiviröntgentutkimus Viikin Yliopistollisessa Eläinsairaalassa : Microsoft Power Point -opetusmateriaali Helsingin yliopiston eläinlääketieteen opiskelijoille

Abstract

Tämän toiminnallisen opinnäytetyöprojektin tavoitteena oli tuottaa toimivaa ja hyödyllistä opetusmateriaalia koiran keuhkojen natiiviröntgenkuvantamisesta Viikin Yliopistollisessa Eläinsairaalassa. Opetusmateriaali on tarkoitettu Helsingin yliopiston eläinlääketieteen opiskelijoiden röntgenkuvantamisen opiskelun tueksi kurssille, käytännön harjoitteluun eläinsairaalassa ja itsenäiseen opiskeluun. Opetusmateriaalin tavoitteena on parantaa opiskelijoiden ottamien röntgenkuvien laatua, röntgenkuvantamisen ja säteilysuojelun toteuttamista sekä koirien käsittelyä röntgentutkimuksissa.

Opetusmateriaali toteutettiin Microsoft Power Point -muodossa. Opetusmateriaali sisältää sanalliset ohjeistukset koiran keuhkojen natiiviröntgenkuvantamisesta Viikin Yliopistollisessa Eläinsairaalassa. Sanallisen ohjeistuksen tukena on paljon havainnollistavia kuvia kuvantamisprosessin eri vaiheista, laitteista ja apuvälineistä. Opetusmateriaalin loppuun on linkitetty kolme oppimisprosessia tukevaa videoklippiä koiran käsittelystä ja asettelusta keuhkoröntgentutkimuksessa.

Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin yhteistyössä Viikin Yliopistollisen Eläinsairaalan pieneläinröntgenosaston kanssa ja tuotoksena on 33 diaa uutta opetusmateriaalia opiskelijoiden käyttöön. Opetusmateriaalin sanalliset ohjeistukset on laadittu osaston omien kuvausohjeiden ja toimintamallien pohjalta yhteistyössä osaston röntgenhoitajien kanssa. Osaston röntgenhoitajat vastaavat eläinlääketieteen opiskelijoiden käytännön röntgenharjoittelun opetuksesta. Opetusmateriaalin on tarkoitus palvella eläinlääketieteen opiskelijoita erityisesti silloin, kun he päivystävät sairaalassa ilman röntgenhoitajien läsnäoloa.

Kirjallisessa raportissa käydään läpi tämän opetusmateriaalin tuottamisen teoriaa, tavoitteita ja taustaa sekä projektin etenemistä. Raportin tavoitteena on vastata kysymykseen, kuinka tehdään hyvä opetusmateriaali koiran natiiviröntgenkuvantamisesta. Raportin liitteenä on opetusmateriaalia varten tuottamamme käsikirjoitus tutkimuksen eri vaiheista.

The goal of this functional final project was to produce workable and useful educational material of the dog’s lung imaging in The Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Viikki. The educational material is intended to be supportive for the students of veterinary medicine of the University of Helsinki for courses, practical training in animal hospital and independent learning of x-ray imaging. Educational material is designed to improve the quality of students x-ray images, imaging process, radiation protection and handling of the dog during x-ray imaging.

The educational material was carried out in Microsoft Power Point format. Educational material includes the verbal guidance of the dog’s lung imaging in The Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Viikki. Verbal guidance is supported by many illustrations of the various stages of the imaging process and the devices and assistive equipment needed during imaging. At the end of the educational material, there are links to three video clips to support the learning process of handling the dog and arranging the dog for lung x-ray image.

The final project was carried out in cooperation with a small animal x-ray department of The Veterinary Teaching Hospital and the output was 33 slides of new teaching material for the students to use. The verbal guidance of the educational material was drawn up by the department own guidelines and operations models together with the radiographers of the x-ray department. Radiographers of the x-ray department are responsible for teaching veterinary students during their practical x-ray training period. The educational material is meant to serve the veterinary students especially when they are on duty in the hospital without the presence of the radiographers.

The written report walks you through the theory, goals and the background of producing this educational material as well as the progress of the project. The aim of the report was to answer the question on how to produce good educational material of the dog’s lung imaging. The report is accompanied by a manuscript of the various phases of the imaging process that we produced for the educational material.
