Tiivistelmä
Learning analytics (LA) can benefit institutions, teacher trainers, teachers, and students. Different learning management systems provide distinct learning analytics options. According to this study, most students were not familiar with the concept of LA. Online functionalities that produce data for learning analytics are not always in active use. Teachers can gain information about how their students are progressing if they allow digital footprints to produce data for LA purposes. Learning analytics requires that teachers, when they are designing for online learning, pay attention to the digital footprints that learning activities can create.
