Tiivistelmä
Digitalization has changed marketing. The fast pace of change in business fields has made the competition between companies even more challenging. Old and withered companies are disappearing whereas new companies are being established. Digitalization has hampered the competition – the better a company utilizes technology in its activities, the better chances it has to stay in the competition. Digitalization is the source and the core of the businesses. Companies who are not investing in the world of digitalization are being left behind in the competition.

The purpose of this thesis was to improve the visual design of a webpage of an Oulu-based entrepreneur Henriikka Kivelä. Henrikka Kivelä is an entrepreneur and a coach, who offers web courses regarding health of mind, meditation, stress, and health since the year 2020. This thesis was meant to provide Henriikka Kivelä a webpage, with proper user experience and visually appealing design. The author designed, planned, and implemented concrete improvements on the webpage. (The Business Information System, Kivelä. Cited 21.02.2022)

The aim of this thesis was to obtain experience on the improvement of webpages for this type of business, which focuses on personal branding. Henriikka Kivelä was established originally under the name of Organicer but changed its trade name to Henriikka Kivelä back in June 2021. (Finnish Patent and Registration Office Virre, Kivelä. The theoretical background consisted of academic books, trustworthy internet sources and YouTube tutorial videos. The practical work was implemented by WordPress Elementor, which was the webpage plugin used in this thesis. The practical background also included platform Webropol for data gathering, which was being used for survey concerning the user experience on the commissioner’s webpage. The key methods were groundwork, i.e., theory and practical methods, such as design and implementation. The commissioner was satisfied with the results of the new webpage.
