Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis is to develop Kanttila’s English website. Kanttila is going to be a cultural centre but is currently undergoing renovation and development work. The website is an information centre for the Kanttila project, where customers can find useful knowledge of the renovation process, the association behind the project, and future plans for Kanttila. The website also aims to spread information about the Kanttila project and acquire funding and supporting members. The English version of the website was our focus point, but we also contributed to the Finnish version and the overall look of the whole website.
Content and information marketing alongside web content production were the main theoretical points of our thesis. In this thesis, we go through the process of developing the website and translating and creating content for an international user base. We define our target audience and explain some of the special characteristics involved in creating web content marketing.
The goal for our project of developing the website is for it to be accessible, approachable, and user friendly for all. We did this by simplifying and organizing the layout, dividing information in a logical manner to different subgroups and by using easy to understand English as much as we could, to reach as broad an audience as possible. We also added some new features to have a more professional, unique, and interesting looking website.
