Tiivistelmä
Tanssiteos K O R V A A M A T O N oli Alisa Rintamäen ja Sofia Jaakkolan taiteellinen opinnäytetyö. Teos esitettiin 15.-16.3.2022 Kuopiossa Itä-Suomen tanssin aluekeskuksen ITAK-näyttämöllä osana Lähtölaukaus-festivaalia.
Dance production K O R V A A M A T O N was an artistic thesis by Alisa Rintamäki and Sofia Jaakkola. The performance took place on 15 and 16 March 2022 at the Regional Dance Center of Eastern Finland in ITAK-stage, Kuopio. It was part of the Lähtölaukaus Dance Festival. The starting point for the dance production was a focus on storytelling. In addition to that, the piece combined different dance styles and role work based on the dancers’ whole body expression.
This is the written part of the thesis. It covers role work elements, preparation process of the production, and role work from the perspective of this production. This written part goes through Rintamäki`s and Jaakkola`s discoveries and experiences, and reflects on role work from the preparation process. Together Rintamäki and Jaakkola worked as writers, choreographers, directors, dancers, costumiers, sound and light designers and producers.
During the process, the impact of role work in a dance piece with a strong storyline became clearer to the creators. Different parts of role work as dancers as well as their role as directors and choreographers became important. An essential part of the whole process was moving the storyline which was strongly in touch with the role work of the different characters. The entire process deepened the creator`s professional growth. Rintamäki and Jaakkola feel that they want to deepen their knowledge in role work after this process.
