Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja on VEO Oy.
The objective of the thesis was to form a transfer function from a control circuit and to create a calculation tool for optimizing the parameters of the transfer function. Parameter optimization is required to verify that the control circuit operation meets the requirements. In addition, the calculation tool should also demonstrate the frequency response of the transfer function by plotting the Bode phase plot and the Bode magnitude plot. The thesis was commissioned by VEO Oy.
In the beginning the control circuit and mathematical methods required to form a transfer function and to perform parameters optimization were studied. The next step was to form the transfer function. The calculation tool for optimizing the transfer function parameters was created with Microsoft Excel. The calculation tool was tested by comparing the obtained results with actual calculated values received from Fingrid, the operator of the Finland’s electrical transmission network.
It was observed that the modelled frequency response of the parameters optimized by the calculation tool was partially better when compared with the actual parameters of the modelled frequency response of the control circuit. Based on these results the validity of the calculation tool was verified. In the future VEO is planning to use the calculation tool to optimize new control circuits.
