Tiivistelmä
The thesis aims to investigate entrepreneurship education in arts and creative industries to clarify key concepts, principles, and skills and use that understanding to propose development ideas for the methodology or current entrepreneurship that focuses on the CCIs.
The theoretical part of this study examines what arts entrepreneurship and cultural entrepreneurship are all about and the specific ingredients to consider in entrepreneurship education in this field. It looks into the current research based on literature and scientific articles.
This study was conducted as qualitative research to build a framework for teaching entrepreneurship in the Creative and Cultural Industries and propose development ideas for the current undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation with projects focused on arts and creative industries.
A semi-structured interview was used as the research method for this qualitative study. The data was gathered from the current students ongoing the undergraduate degree in question. To complement and understand the other key stakeholders and their perception of the skills needed in the industry, a focus group activity with industry professionals was conducted, and the core team working on the undergraduate degree was engaged in a collective inquiry.
The results show that even in the light of the complexity of both the industry itself and the emerging field of entrepreneurship education in the CCIs, some common concepts remain relevant. This work develops those underpinnings as a practical proposal for further development of the specific degree context worked upon.
