Tiivistelmä
The purpose of the study was to create a guideline of the standard requirements for low voltage switches. The motivation for this thesis was the unclear knowledge regarding the standard requirements for environmental testing in scope of ABB low voltage switches and environmental effects were limited to the standard requirement for vibration, shock, and temperature test. On the other hand, the environmental test requirements are not performed as part of quality yearly program and there was not have proposal of test for quality yearly test program therefor, we cannot clarify and define different product standards where requirement stated. The study problems directly relate to the study motivation.
The research methods of the study are based on literature and standards, inter-views with colleagues and practical tests according to International Electrotechnical Commission standards based on the content of this research work. The material of this thesis is available at ABB’s internal databases and library.
This thesis achieved all the defined targets and the great achievement and finding in this thesis was the combination test under different climate conditions and making the investigation for a specimen to monitor the switch and switch part behavior before and after the test.
