Becoming a designer has never been simpler, owing to the accessibility provided by modern software design tools. The purpose of the thesis is to determine whether Adobe’s software tools are positioned to lead a wave of design democratisation.
Relevant academic research was conducted and comprised of literature that denoted design democratisation, marketing, innovation, and design theory. The research method was a hybrid of qualitative and quantitative data. Five respondents took part in a survey made up of ten questions, where nine of them were interview-style questions, and one of them being multiple choice. Two respondents were professional designers, whereas the other three were content creators.
The results suggest that Adobe are currently and will most likely remain a designers first choice pick for creative software tools. Furthermore, they are facilitators of co creation, and their subscription model has proven to be advantageous for both Adobe and the customers. Contrarily, artificial intelligence was reported to not make a noticeable impact on workflow.
The author recommends more in-depth research to be carried out, where future research methods reduce the limitations imposed by same size and respondents’ design experience.
