Tiivistelmä
This thesis was developed with Estates & Wines, the wine division of Moët Hennessy. This company is responsible for the development and control of 7 Maisons around the world. Given its organizational complexity and its desire to integrate a sustainable development strategy, the student researcher invested in the most appropriate management tools to accompany them in their transition to a sustainable business model.
The student researcher made an investigation about organizational structures, project tools, and CSR instrumentalization strategies to discuss the results of his qualitative study. The qualitative study was conducted in the form of targeted questioning of key stakeholders in the organization. Top management to junior managers were integrated into a holistic study of the integration of sustainability in their company.
The triangulation of data offered by the literature review, qualitative study, and normative analysis allowed the constitution of a detailed report on the current situation and future opportunities for Estates & Wines. The results based on the literature review showed that the integration of CSR issues in a company requires profound changes in its organizational structure and its approach to instrumentalizing its strategy. These results were widely confirmed by the Estates & Wines collaborators.
The results of the thesis suggest structuring the organization around temporary projects that enable teamwork with varied and interdisciplinary expertise. The mobilization of Estates & Wines' resources around a group of experts to meet the need for innovation becomes the cornerstone of project success. The organization must address the isolation of the Maisons and their challenges, counteract the heterogeneity of processes and projects, facilitate collaboration and promote the definition of a common goal. To achieve these objectives, the author recommends that the commissioner company implement an organizational structure of horizontal integration allowing the creation of Think Tanks responsible for the instrumentalization of the strategy defined by the group and the author’s sustainable agenda.
