Investigation on Security Improvements for Open Radio Access Networks

Abstract

This thesis was a study on telecommunication industry security requirements and the management of these requirements though the product lifecycle. The target was to find improvement areas in the security technologies in the case company’s portfolio and discuss and analyse these areas with the experts. The analysis of the security requirements and the adoption of these requirements gave confidence on the understanding how these are supported and implemented by the case company. This thesis did not include detailed study on security testing or verification, or security requirements virtualized environments. As a result, four security improvement recommendation areas are noted into this thesis, discussed with relevant organizations and the results recorded into this study.
