The thesis work was a part of a project at Cozify in where the Cozify smart hub’s generic 868MHz radio FM-receiving capabilities and performance were investigated. Topic was brought out when commercializing, a new device in this radio platform.
The second purpose of this thesis work is to give the user an understanding of the essential concepts, theory, measurements, tools, and practices for optimizing radio platform performance.
To achieve the goals, there was cooperation in the planning of practices and in analyzing the results with radio professionals. The conclusions are formed based on the opinions of many experts.
The FM-receiving performance of the Cozify hub’s generic 868MHz radio was improved further, by increasing the receiver sensitivity. The investigation also revealed shortcomings in the antenna tuning and a possibility of internal noise.
