The Employment of Advanced Technologies in Accounting

Abstract

The employment of advanced technologies in the accounting industry forces accountants to acquire a new skillset in accordance with changing requirements in the labor market. This thesis is intended to display how an adaptation of undergraduates must look like by analyzing major impacts to eventually present a concrete skillset. In addition to that, the ability of universities and their current accounting curricula to appropriately qualify their students with such proficiencies was put under review. As they were found to not sufficiently respond to the changing definition of the accounting profession, exemplary modifications and additions to the accounting curriculum have been enclosed.
