Tiivistelmä
The primary objective of the thesis is to facilitate the rebalancing of Greek immigrants to Finland by improving their comprehension of social norms, cultural elements, and foundational immigration laws of Finland. The thesis is linked to social and community engagement due to its educational basis and straightforward, practical presentation of the necessary steps for flexibility in a new society.
A booklet that offers significant and useful information in both Greek and English is included in the thesis. The thesis is product oriented, and the booklet is based on interviews. Greek residents in Finland were interviewed to gather data for the booklet. Greeks who really are planning to relocate to Finland should find information on the Finnish legal system, as well as Finnish culture, customs, education, and Finnish language.
Information may generally be found online, but not always in the same manner. Greeks who have recently moved to Finland need encouragement or ongoing assistance to learn how to network in everyday life here. The Greek mindset continues to influence many newcomers. This thesis will make it less difficult for the Association to disseminate the necessary booklet. Individuals will be able to process how to transmit information, which is a technique that may be beneficial in social assistance scenarios.
The Greek Associations’ characteristic in this situation is to acquire the booklet and to grant access to data to those interested in relocating to Finland. Also, other EU residents can be benefited from this booklet.
The thesis and product (booklet) aim to provide a new instructional tool that Greek Association, members of Association, and non-members can use to reduce misinformation and misunderstandings prompted through lack of information.
