Tiivistelmä
Suolistoparasiitit ovat suolistossa eläviä loisia. Eniten niitä esiintyy trooppisten ja subtrooppisten maiden
asukkailla, mutta niitä tavataan myös esimerkiksi Suomessa. Suomessa esiintyviä parasiitteja ovat
Dientamoeba fragilis, Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium, lapamato, suolinkainen ja kihomato. Myös Entamoeba
histolyticaa esiintyy Suomessa, mutta infektio on usein peräisin ulkomailta.
Opinnäytetyö tehtiin kehittämistyönä, jonka tarkoituksena oli tuottaa bioanalyytikko-opiskelijoille verkko-oppimateriaalia Suomessa esiintyvistä suolistoparasiiteista. Kehittämistyön tavoitteena oli tukea ja syventää
bioanalyytikko-opiskelijoiden kliinisen mikrobiologian osaamista. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantaja oli Savonia-ammattikorkeakoulun bioanalytiikan tutkinto-ohjelma.
Kehittämistyön tuotos oli Moodle-oppimisalustalle tehty verkko-opiskelumateriaali Suomessa esiintyvistä
suolistoparasiiteista. Opiskelumateriaali luotiin Moodle-oppimisalustalle oppitunti-työkalua käyttäen.
Opiskelumateriaaliin kuului teoriaosuudet parasiiteista, jossa kerrottiin niiden elinkierrosta, ulkonäöstä,
esiintyvyydestä, oirekuvasta, diagnostiikasta, hoidosta ja ehkäisystä. Lisäksi teorian joukkoon oli lisätty kuvia
parasiiteista ja monivalintakysymyksiä. Monivalintakysymysten avulla opiskelijat pystyvät testaamaan
oppimistaan.
Kehittämistyön materiaali toimii lisämateriaalina kliinisen mikrobiologian opintojaksolla. Verkko-oppimateriaaliin on mahdollista perehtyä ajasta ja paikasta riippumatta. Oppimateriaalia pääsee kertaamaan
myös opintojakson jälkeenkin. Intestinal parasites are parasites that live in the intestines. Parasites are most likely found in people, who live
in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world, but they can also be found in Finland. These parasites
found in Finland are Dientamoeba fragilis, Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium, tapeworm, roundworm and
pinworm. Also Entamoeba histolytica has been found in Finland, but usually the infection has come from
another country.
This thesis was conducted as a development work. The purpose of this thesis was to make an online learning
material about intestinal parasites found in Finland to biomedical laboratory science students. The aim of this
thesis was to support and deepen the knowledge of clinical microbiology among biomedical laboratory science
students. The subject of this thesis was given by the biomedical laboratory science degree programme at
Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
The product of this development work was an online learning material about intestinal parasites found in
Finland. The material was made in Moodle learning platform using the lesson tool. The learning material
consists of theoretical information regarding parasites, and the theory parts cover their lifecycle, appearance,
incidence, symptoms, diagnostics, treatment and prevention. In addition to the theory, multiple choice
questions and pictures of the parasites were added to the learning material. Students could test their learning
with the multiple choice questions.
This learning material functions as an extra material in the clinical microbiology course. The online learning
material can be used anytime and everywhere. It can also be viewed even after the clinical microbiology
course.
